Credits

The agency's available credits are shown in the top-left corner of the user interface during missions.

Credits (or CR) are the currency used in the game to purchase items, weapons, augments, programs and skill upgrades. The agency's available credits are shown in the top-left corner of the user interface during missions, and in the top-right corner of the world map screen.

The agency begins the game with 500 credits, and can acquire more credits by stealing from guards, looting Corporate Safes and some other devices, selling items and programs, exfiltrating some special items for credit rewards, completing the objectives of some missions and side-missions, or from some other sources.

Credit multiplier

The amount of credits gained from most sources is adjusted by a credit multiplier, which is determined by the game difficulty setting and the mission difficulty level. In general, the base number of credits shown in in-game tooltips (and shown on this wiki) is not the true number of credits you will receive, so for example a Research Experiment is nominally worth 500 credits, but is worth only 375 credits (rounded to 380 credits) when the credit multiplier is 0.75.

Beginner, Experienced Expert, Expert Plus
Mission difficulty 1 1 0.75
Mission difficulty 2 1.25 0.9375
Mission difficulty 3 1.5 1.125
Mission difficulty 4+ 1.75 1.3125

After being adjusted by the credit multiplier, numbers of credits are generally rounded up to the next multipler of 10; credits from stealing are additionally adjusted by the agent's Anarchy skill level bonus, after rounding.

Credits from selling items or programs are not adjusted by the credit multiplier, and are always equal to half of the item or program's nominal value. Credits received from using an Econ Chip are also not adjusted by the credit multiplier.
