Cybernetics Lab

Cybernetics Lab mission preview
This is a research and development lab for cybernetic augments. The augments in storage there will not yet have been genecoded to specific users.

Cybernetics Labs are a type of mission which can occur in both Campaign modes and Endless modes. The primary objective of a Cybernetics Lab mission is to find and use the Augment Grafters; each Augment Grafter offers either an augment or an additional augment socket. Some Cybernetics Lab missions have additional Augment Grafters locked behind a Vault Door, requiring a Vault Access Card to access.

When playing with the Contingency Plan DLC enabled, some Cybernetics Labs also have an Augment Drill which can be used to either remove an installed augment, or install an additional augment socket. When an Augment Drill is present, it is always locked behind a Vault Door.

There are four prefab Cybernetics Lab layouts:

Augment Grafters

Look at those augment grafters. People who aren't us pay top dollar for time on those bad boys.

Augment Grafters are mainframe devices found in the Cybernetics Lab objective rooms. Once hacked, Augment Grafters offer the agent accessing them the option of either:

  • Installing a specific, predetermined augment on the agent accessing it. It is not possible to obtain the augment in the grafter as an item; it must be installed immediately. If this is not possible because the agent lacks an available augment socket, this option is not available.
  • Installing an additional augment socket on the accessing agent. This will additionally KO the accessing agent for 2 turns. This option is not available if the agent is at their maximum possible augment sockets.

Once an Augment Grafter is used, it is inactive for the rest of the mission. The first Augment Grafter or Augment Drill used triggers the corporation's Security Response.

Augment Drill

Augment Drills are mainframe devices found in the Cybernetics Lab objective rooms, but only behind Vault Doors. Once hacked, Augment Drills offer the agent accessing them the option of either:

  • Removing an existing augment from the agent, freeing up its augment socket. Any augment can be selected, including starting augments. This will additionally KO the accessing agent for 2 turns.
  • Installing an additional augment socket on the accessing agent. This will additionally KO the accessing agent for 2 turns. This option is not available if the agent is at their maximum possible augment sockets.

Once an Augment Drill is used, it is inactive for the rest of the mission. The first Augment Grafter or Augment Drill used triggers the corporation's Security Response.

Security response

We must have triggered something in their telemetry. They're toggling the power on some of the devices we've taken.
Central

A few randomly chosen hacked mainframe devices, never including the Augment Grafters or Augment Drills, are recaptured.
