Mainframe Devices

A mainframe device is any device with firewalls which can be hacked. Hacking a mainframe device typically allows the device to be used by an agent in some way, or otherwise gives some advantage.

Mainframe devices also include drones and some human guards, which are not listed below. Some devices are specific to particular missions or side-missions.

Devices in typical facilities

	Device	Description
	Beam Emitter	Appears only in FTM and Plastech facilities. Emits a laser beam which, if walked through by an agent, raises the alarm level by 1 step. Connected to a Power Supply.
	Camera Database	If hacked, reveals the locations of all Security Cameras in the facility.
	Console Database	If hacked, reveals the locations of all Consoles in the facility.
	Corporate Safe	Contains credits and/or an item which can be looted.
	Daemon Database	If hacked, reveals information about daemons on all other devices in the facility.
	Facility Database	If hacked, reveals the outline of the facility.
	Laser Panel	Appears only in K&O facilities. Emits a lethal laser beam which cannot be walked through by agents, and deals lethal damage if it hits an agent when activating. Connected to a Power Supply, which can be hacked to control the Laser Panel in order to block guards' paths or kill them.
	Infrared Emitter	Appears only in OMNI and Sankaku facilities. Emits a laser beam which, if walked through by an agent, triggers a random daemon. Connected to a Power Supply.
	Nanofabricator	Allows an agent to buy and sell items, weapons and augments.
	Power Supply	Can be disabled to deactivate other connected device(s).
	Redundant Power Relay†	Appears in all facilities after the OMNI Foundry Lab mission in the extended campaign. Must be looted to retrieve a Universal Power Cell.
	Router†	Appears only in FTM facilities. While active, it adds 1 firewall to a random device each turn.
	Scanning Amp	Appears only in FTM facilities. While active, it detects an agent's location at each alarm level.
	Secondary Server Terminal	Allows an agent to buy and sell programs.
	Security Camera	Provides vision to the enemy in an area, causing a guard to investigate if an agent is seen. Can be controlled to give vision to the player.
	Sound Bug	Appears only in Sankaku facilities, and some Vaults. Can detect noise, to alert nearby guards.
	Turret	Appears only in K&O facilities. Shoots agents within its vision; can be controlled to shoot guards (2 Armor Piercing). Connected to a Power Supply, which is always adjacent.

Mission-specific devices

	Device	Description
	Access Switch†	Appears in the Research Facility mission. Both of the two Access Switches must be activated on the same turn to unlock the exit teleporter.
	Augment Drill†	Appears in some Cybernetics Labs, behind a Vault Door. Can be used by an agent to remove an installed augment, or to install an additional augment socket.
	Augment Grafter	Appears in Cybernetics Labs. Can be used by an agent to install a free augment, or to install an additional augment socket.
	Cell Door Console	Appears in Detention Centers. When accessed, it frees the detained agent or Prisoner.
	Data Bank†	Appears in Data Banks side-missions. If all three Data Banks are scrubbed by agents, a Data Card is acquired.
	Diagnostic Panel†	Appears in Drone Rescue side-missions. When accessed, it activates the Refit Drone.
	Executive Terminal	Can be looted in Executive Terminals missions to acquire the Site List.
	Mainframe Lock	Must be accessed by Monst3r in the OMNI Mainframe mission to open the door to the mainframe room.
	Relay Switch†	Appears in Power Relay Station side-missions. If both Relay Switches are activated in the same turn, the Power Relay Station door is opened.
	Relay Transformer†	Appears in Power Relay Station side-missions. Can be accessed to sell PWR for credits.
	Research Databank†	Appears in Program Compile side-missions. Can be accessed using the Compile Key to compile a random program for Incognita.
	Secure Case	Can be looted in Vaults to acquire a Research Experiment, and must be looted in the OMNI Foundry Lab mission to acquire the Quantum Reservoir.
	Secure Locker	Can be looted in Security Dispatch missions to acquire credits and a high-value item or weapon.
	Security Hub	Must be hacked by Monst3r in the OMNI Mainframe mission to acquire the OMNI Security Chip.
	Primary Server Terminal	Can be accessed in Server Farms to buy and sell programs.
	Vault Terminal	Can be accessed in Vaults to unlock the Deposit Boxes.
